Nice Face

Nice face.

{Shirt: WallpapHER at Nordstrom, Shorts: J.Crew, Sunglasses: Madewell, Shoes: Nordstrom RACK}

Hey Birdies! I haven't done outfit pics in forever! I have to say, it's harder than I thought! I noticed I'm totally rocking the "awkward face" in pretty much all of them :) Oh, and I'm in my neighbors yard. :)

I don't usually pair cobalt with orange, but I thought I needed to do something different for my first day :)

I love that shirt. Seriously, it has BIRDS! And it has a scalloped edge with I love!

A Challenge!

I have so many pairs of shorts this year! Last year I had like three (probably because I wore Nike Tempos everyday, but...). So I decided that for the next however-many-days-it-takes, I will wear a different pair of shorts! I'm not really that kind of blogger because I wear a uniform, but because school's out (!!!!), I can wear normal-person clothes! Er- as normal as my um not-so-normal shorts can get...

*Hint hint: there are sailboats. Don't say I didn't warn you!!!

*And yes, I have a stack of shorts labeled not-so-normal... Because I have a completely normal life :)

*And these shorts do not count running shorts. Picture random t-shirts. :)

Get Your Viggle On

Hey Birdies! I know I usually I post fashion stuff. Okay, I always post something fashion-related, so today, I'm going to try to relate it to fashion. Here goes!

I got this amazing app yesterday! It's called Viggle! You watch TV, and Viggle "listens" and gives you points for the TV you watch! The more TV, the more points! The  more points you get, the more awesome rewards you can get! I have over 2000 points and I just started! I don't even watch much TV! I just realized every sentence ended in an explanation point. Anyway, a Starbucks giftcard is 9000 points. A MacBook Air is 3,700,000 points!

Ta ta for now! I gotta go get my 300 bonus points for the Bachelorette! I need 7500 points to make a donation to a charity! I think I'll do Covenant House! :)

Thakoon is Blowing my Mind

Hey Birdies! It's been so long! I miss blogging! I can't wait to start actually being consistent! Unfortunately, I have Dead Week (an infamous week of studying and review) and then Finals Week. On May 26, I will start posting regularly. Promise!

Today, I'm fascinated by Thakoon. I saw this dress, and I knew I had to show you guys!

And then I saw the shoes!
To die for! I love the little metallic semi-circles!

So this was supposed to be a brief post, but....

At first I thought I was a little swingy pleated skirt, but then I realized IT'S FRINGE! Mind=blown.

Another detail I didn't realize existed: studded shoulders! ZARA has been killing it lately! I love anything that reminds me of a British accent, and I decided ZARA is British. I know it's international, but I really love all the European-looking clothes.

Well, I'll see you guys in a week or two! I can't wait until summer!!!!!! :)

And Now A Word From Our Sponser

It's no surprise I love jelly shoes (also referenced here and here), so I dub them the official unofficial sponser of Birdy's List! They (meaning jelly shoes and their makers) don't donate money or anything, but I think we need something amazing.

Insert the jelly shoe. Hailing from the '80s, it's definitely made a comeback since its hayday. But designers are loving it! Gucci, See By Chloe, and Givenchy have all sported the spectacular rubber shoe recently. But my favorite is from Tory Burch.

Unfortunately, they are no longer available (apparently not everyone is head-over-heels), but I am holding my breath until these fantastically stunning Lacoste yellow gladiators I saw in a magazine are online. It's going to be major. Beyond major.

Until then, here are some I love.

Hello fabulous! I just searched it on polyvore, and I saw so much amazing jelly-ness! These were my favorite, but there are so many more! The one jelly shoe I don't like is the jelly wedge. I just don't understand it. Maybe I need to see it in person.

I LOVE JELLY SHOES!!!!!!!

I Just Died.

I'm so excited. Peter Som is my favorite designer. I could post his beyond major fall collection, but I died for his spring looks!

Okay, I'll give you a second to catch your breath. So gorgeous!

And the first thing that came to mind is this cheery skirt full of flowers. It looks so unbelievably close to the skirt on the model with purple skirt.

The shirt is... surprise surprise... purple! I would do a rock a little side half tuck!

Now I need sparklies!

I'm so obsessed with bows right now. They are just beyond major especially on a long silver necklace! Major!

Every girl need larger-than-life sunnies!

I die for Peter Som. Enough said.

Death By Fluffiness

Alexander McQueen had a refreshingly optimistic show this fall unlike some other depressingly beautiful shows *coughcough* Louis Vuitton, Valentino. This one is a bit wilder and bolder than Ferretti, so inspiration is a way less literal.

These are my favorite looks. I love that a fall collection can be cheerful and airy, but still fits in with fall shows.

*sigh* Isn't Sarah Burton a genius?!?!

{Anthro}

Hello, joy. Nice to meet you! You could also substitute this Topshop sweater!

I die. I just die. It's so pretty! I couldn't pull it off (I'm not tall enough), but it would be just gorgeous on a slightly pale and tall model with honey-colored hair in the California sunshine. That's just what I picture, but remember- I think differently than the average person. :)

Hello Again!

Hello my fine friends! It's been awhile! And I know I won't post everyday until late May, but I'll try my best!

This week I want to talk about designers and style. My style is so not ethereal or romantic, but I absolutely adore that look. It's just beyond major. Excuse the Rachel Zoe dialogue.

So the first ethereal designer that popped into my head was Alberta Ferretti.

Oh, and before I explain in detail, you should all know that I don't like fall runway shows. I think it's nice, but so much of it is black. I love spring collections. So most of these clothes are from this Spring/Summer season. But of course, some is fall.

Anyway, Alberta Ferretti is just so feminine... observe:

This spring, she has her white...

She has her bright... (which I am loving by the way)

And she has her wild child prints.

I have to say, I'm impressed. Not that that's unusual! Even though the colors and prints are a little bolder, look at the shape, texture, and floatiness that just well, float.

So in a Ferretti-inspired outfit, choose flowy and floaty shapes in bolder colors and prints.

Oh yeah! Mixing prints is so fun! These were actually so easy! Just take one color, add a white pattern, and wear them together for a totally fun look!

For shoes, I think some strappy black heels are the obvious choice because my three favorite Ferretti looks all have them in different colors.

Okay, so I assumed strappy black heels would be easy to find. This was definitely not the case. I found strappy black wedges, but not with a stiletto heel. The J.Crew wedge is close, but I don't really love patent leather. In some cases, I love it, but not this one.

And because I'm not thrilled with those wedges, I wanted to show you some flats that I lurrrrrve.

Much better!!! They are available in citron, and I'm just imagining how stunning they would look on my foot. Is that weird? Probably so.

Because these looks are from Spring/Summer, I wanted to show you guys some Fall love.

There was a smidge of high drama fabulousness...

...and the remainder was black leather and tulle that took my breath away.

Ba-nanas. Beyond ba-na-nas. I love Rachel Zoe's speech patterns!
