Nice Face

Nice face.

{Shirt: WallpapHER at Nordstrom, Shorts: J.Crew, Sunglasses: Madewell, Shoes: Nordstrom RACK}

Hey Birdies! I haven't done outfit pics in forever! I have to say, it's harder than I thought! I noticed I'm totally rocking the "awkward face" in pretty much all of them :) Oh, and I'm in my neighbors yard. :)

I don't usually pair cobalt with orange, but I thought I needed to do something different for my first day :)

I love that shirt. Seriously, it has BIRDS! And it has a scalloped edge with I love!

And Now A Word From Our Sponser

It's no surprise I love jelly shoes (also referenced here and here), so I dub them the official unofficial sponser of Birdy's List! They (meaning jelly shoes and their makers) don't donate money or anything, but I think we need something amazing.

Insert the jelly shoe. Hailing from the '80s, it's definitely made a comeback since its hayday. But designers are loving it! Gucci, See By Chloe, and Givenchy have all sported the spectacular rubber shoe recently. But my favorite is from Tory Burch.

Unfortunately, they are no longer available (apparently not everyone is head-over-heels), but I am holding my breath until these fantastically stunning Lacoste yellow gladiators I saw in a magazine are online. It's going to be major. Beyond major.

Until then, here are some I love.

Hello fabulous! I just searched it on polyvore, and I saw so much amazing jelly-ness! These were my favorite, but there are so many more! The one jelly shoe I don't like is the jelly wedge. I just don't understand it. Maybe I need to see it in person.

I LOVE JELLY SHOES!!!!!!!

I Just Died.

I'm so excited. Peter Som is my favorite designer. I could post his beyond major fall collection, but I died for his spring looks!

Okay, I'll give you a second to catch your breath. So gorgeous!

And the first thing that came to mind is this cheery skirt full of flowers. It looks so unbelievably close to the skirt on the model with purple skirt.

The shirt is... surprise surprise... purple! I would do a rock a little side half tuck!

Now I need sparklies!

I'm so obsessed with bows right now. They are just beyond major especially on a long silver necklace! Major!

Every girl need larger-than-life sunnies!

I die for Peter Som. Enough said.

Hello Again!

Hello my fine friends! It's been awhile! And I know I won't post everyday until late May, but I'll try my best!

This week I want to talk about designers and style. My style is so not ethereal or romantic, but I absolutely adore that look. It's just beyond major. Excuse the Rachel Zoe dialogue.

So the first ethereal designer that popped into my head was Alberta Ferretti.

Oh, and before I explain in detail, you should all know that I don't like fall runway shows. I think it's nice, but so much of it is black. I love spring collections. So most of these clothes are from this Spring/Summer season. But of course, some is fall.

Anyway, Alberta Ferretti is just so feminine... observe:

This spring, she has her white...

She has her bright... (which I am loving by the way)

And she has her wild child prints.

I have to say, I'm impressed. Not that that's unusual! Even though the colors and prints are a little bolder, look at the shape, texture, and floatiness that just well, float.

So in a Ferretti-inspired outfit, choose flowy and floaty shapes in bolder colors and prints.

Oh yeah! Mixing prints is so fun! These were actually so easy! Just take one color, add a white pattern, and wear them together for a totally fun look!

For shoes, I think some strappy black heels are the obvious choice because my three favorite Ferretti looks all have them in different colors.

Okay, so I assumed strappy black heels would be easy to find. This was definitely not the case. I found strappy black wedges, but not with a stiletto heel. The J.Crew wedge is close, but I don't really love patent leather. In some cases, I love it, but not this one.

And because I'm not thrilled with those wedges, I wanted to show you some flats that I lurrrrrve.

Much better!!! They are available in citron, and I'm just imagining how stunning they would look on my foot. Is that weird? Probably so.

Because these looks are from Spring/Summer, I wanted to show you guys some Fall love.

There was a smidge of high drama fabulousness...

...and the remainder was black leather and tulle that took my breath away.

Ba-nanas. Beyond ba-na-nas. I love Rachel Zoe's speech patterns!

Plain White Tee

Ok. I have an idea. I'll go back to posting about just random fashion stuff for March. Then in April, I'll do something similar to IMOS.

Today, I'm thinking about the classic white t-shirt. It's oh so versatile, and it's also comfy. And like everything today, there are options.

The first option is the Hanes Tee from Walmart. It's made of cotton.

It's so wearable, but it's casual. If you told me to wear this, I would add casual shorts or even workout shorts.

Dare I suggest gingham? Dare I shall.

And also, I would potentially wear it with Nike Tempos, because, let's face it, I could live in them.

So that's the über casual version.

And now, here's the less casual version. This tee is linen.

It's extremely versatile, but then again, so are all white tees. I would add a little colorful skirt.

Notice they are all from Crewcuts! An XL at Crewcuts is actually really big. And are those skirts not adorable? Love!

So the next step up is really not a step up. It's like a step to the left. Parallel. My algebra teacher would be so proud of that math reference.

It's a supersoft cotton, but it has a drapiness like no other.

It looks so comfortable! And I'm loving the high-ish/low-ish hemline!

We are now entering Lilly territory. Please keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times.

I love me some Lilly! And that print is STUNNING!

And for the last one, I want to show you guys a crepe tee. It's obviously more formal, so DO NOT wear it with Tempos. It will not work. I promise.

Ok, now we can move into DVF stuff. Hold your breath. It could get crazy. Just kidding. But it will get beautiful.

Oh, happy day! I love the print master's work. It's gorgeous!

Those my three levels of plain white tees. They are so versatile, and white is so fabulous with brights. I have a gray version of the linen tissue tee. It's amazing! And don't get me started on Hanes. I love it with my Nike Tempos! How do you wear your white tees?
