Day 2!

Hey Birdies! It's the second day of my 10 outfits series!

Yesterday, I wore a flouncy skirt and toucan tee. So today, I want something less frilly.

I love shorts with cuffs. I'm so tired of cut-offs! They look more... I can't describe it, but just better. They look a little more put-together.

I love bright watercolor-looking things! It's pretty, but still fun.

I get Havaianas every summer, and never get tired of them. They are comfortable, and they actually look cute! I adore the slim turkish. It's what I got last year, and I wore them to death. Except they didn't die. If it was flip flop weather, I'd be wearing them right now!

Today I wanted something simple, comfortable, and colorful. I think I got it. Actually, I'm sure I got it.

Happy spring break! Where are you guys going? I'm so excited! I'm going skiing! I promise I'll take pictures!

Slight Complication

Happy International Month of Shoes (IMOS)!!

Well, I've had some technical difficulties lately. I meant to set The Brits to post on Saturday. Flower Girl was supposed to go up on Friday. Oops! I think it was my mistake. But I could always blame technology...

Today, I'm feeling ethereal. I want pretty pastels and I want it to be summer-y. In Austin, we get snow approximately 8 hours a year. The weatherman said that we might get a light dusting today, so I'm so excited. But cold. So I'm going 110˚ weather for today's outfit.

It looks so pearly! I love the little flower! Now if it's really 110˚, all I wear is a swimsuit. But this is a fashion blog. I think that a short little skirt would work too. Your legs don't have anything touching them, so that helps a smidge.

A few minutes of pure reality later, I realized that the skirt I'm looking for doesn't exist. All I see are maxi skirts, denim skirts, or A-line skirts. I want something light and flouncy! So I think I need to find an alternative: shorts. Big surprise, huh?

These are so utterly pretty. They're light, short, and not bam-in-your-face-I-love-bold-pattern-and-color. And they also come is pastel blue!

For the shirt, I could take the easy way...

like this...

Or this.

Or I could do the other easy way...

Because there really isn't a hard way! It's summer! -Er, we're pretending it's summer. Because I'm cold.

Happy IMOS! And happy winter!

AE Part Deux

Part ii of AE stuff isn't that exciting. Actually, I have blogger's block. Without further ado, wait! I love saying that... It feels so formal and grand. Addicting. What does ado mean? Anyway, without further ado...

Every girl needs some gray or black/charcoal/faded black pair of jeans. They are totally on my list of necessities! They work with almost everything, but they they look... different. I can't describe it, but it's less... casual... not the perfect word, but it will have to do. Oh well! Close enough is good enough! Well, not really.

4 words: I love red jeans.

Welcome my latest obsession! Moccasins! I've seen them a lot lately, and I'm in love! I have some that I love. They are more versatile than you would think. It really surprised me. On top of the aesthetic, they are amazingly comfortable! Not surprised? Neither was I.

Another favorite: riding boots. I lived in them last fall/winter. They are way more comfortable than I expected! Also, I didn't think they would go with a lot of things in my closet, but surprisingly, they worked with almost everything that wasn't a t-shirt and hoodie. In other words, slightly less casual.

Instant outfit: tank top, boyfriend cardigan, infinity scarf, jeans. I love infinity scarves. They add so much, and they keep your neck warm! I tried this one on, but unfortunately, the orange ruined it. We (my mom and I) wanted to try on more, but we ran out of time. Sad story. I loved the other available color combos, too...

... Such as this one! Lesson learned from the previous scarf: don't judge a scarf by the picture (Yeah, I'll work on that saying!) so obviously, I shouldn't judge according to the if-I-was-a-pessimist-I-would-say-that-saying-would-fail-immediately-but-I'm-an-optimist-so-I'll-say-it-won't-because-I'm-well-optimistic. How's that for a run-on? Long story short: I like this scarf. Wow, I digress!

In my opinion, smaller cross-body bags are better because they aren't as easily lost as, say, a clutch. And the colors and pattern are like, totally awesome, girl (I dressed up as an 80's Let's Get Physical girl at dance today, so I tried to stay "in character". I failed hilariously! But we, meaning me and everyone else at the studio, had tons of fun this week dressing up and making up Halloween dances).

This one is a bit too refined for me, but I appreciate it. It just needs something. Color, texture, pattern, or really anything would work. Just something a bit more fun and less serious.

I must confess that I am a sockaholic. I love awesome socks. They make great gifts (slightly ironic), and they keep your feet warm. Wow. I make it sound like it's so unbearably freezing in Texas. It get down in the teens about once a year. It's still 80/90˚ in the afternoon right now. For us, that's a little above normal. For Canadians, 50˚ is probably nothing. For Texans, at least in Austin, it's time too hibernate in the igloo and stock up on food because it's too cold to go to the grocery store. I'm exaggerating. But it's crazy. Let's say the transition isn't graceful or smooth. At all.

I love that tone variation. It looks especially fantastic in purple!

The chains with the different material and length are so like, totally fatabulous (another fail! *laugh and smile*) To put it simply: I love it.

This would actually be significant if I wore it because my nickname is Birdy for some unknown reason. I seriously don't know why my Mom calls me Birdy. I guess I have a lot of nicknames. I just respond to anything!

Cue confusion. How can you move your fingers if they're stuck in a ring? Why can't you just get 2 rings? How nonsensical! *That's a word!*

My cousin said she saw the cover picture framed in someone's house. She asked if that was in Awkward Family Photos. The house-owner said that it was kind of awkward. The lady didn't know it was in a book called Awkward Family Photos!

Texas. needs. rain. End. of. story. And the umbrella is super cute! I love umbrellas.. *sigh*... and rain.

Wow. I digress A LOT. From Let's Get Physical to making up sayings, I'm all over the place. That's just the way I like it!

AE and my Continued Saga of the Beloved Stripes

Heyyyy mon! Let's drink a coconut while we watch the wavessss crash with a Jamaican accent. American Eagle has new arrivals! Yay!

And my love for stripes continues... I love the stripes and the colors! Pink and red used to be my least favorite color combo. Now I love it! Especially when there's gray/teal/navy involved!

Again, stripes. The colors remind of something I can't put my finger on. St. Patrick's Day? Maybe. Oh! It's March! It reminds of March.

That color looks phenomenal! It's kind of an emerald-y/teal color. So pretty!

Last year I made a goal to wear more than brown/gray/blue. Now I'm drawn to more reds/greens/oranges! I'm so proud of myself! Picture me sarcastically patting myself on the back.

Something about the neon grellow (green-y yellow) and heather-y gray stripes is so captivating! I love it!

Yay! Marbled blue with navy! I like the solid navy with the multi-dimensional marbled pale blue.

The tan/pink combo is more unusual than it should be. I love it! I tried it on one time, and it was incredibly itchy! That's too bad because it's so happy-looking!

I mention this here. My opinion hasn't changed. It's only been a month!

Woah! Break out the sunglasses! The color is amazing in a lose-the-coffee-because-this-is-all-you-need-to-wake-you-up-in-the-morning kind of way. It reminds me of my favorite Patagonia jacket!

This is the Patagonia jacket! It's definitely on my wishlist!

Everyone needs blue jeans. Only special *wink* people need gray/faded black jeans! Last year, I wore them just as much as regular jeans, and they work with almost everything!

Again, the red jeans are captivating me this season!

Soon, I'll do a post on my doctor's appointment *wink sarcastically*! It's not actually a doctor's appointment, hopefully exhibited by the sarcastic winking. It was a fun visit!

American Eagle and British accents

Hullo with a British accent! I wish I was good at accents, but I'm not. So I'm going to move to England so I'll have an American accent! Genius, right? Haha! So I love American Eagle, but some stuff can be a bit big on me. I should mention that if I were full grown (thankfully I'm not), I would be a seriously vertically-challenged person. I'm 5'1"! So anyway, American Eagle!

I love love love this! The colors are perfect. The style is perfect. The stripes are perfect. The entire thing is pure perfection!

Wow! Another striped sweater! I love the pink and red with the navy. It looks so cozy!

I'm on a roll with striped sweaters! And I love stripes! Apparently, so does American Eagle! It looks so slouchy and rainy!

Does this count as a striped sweater? Either way, I love the colors! I kinda wish it was long sleeve, but I still love it!

This looks so comfortable! Not to mention cute! Oh, and it's a stripey sweater! Bonus!

The color looks so Thanksgiving-ish! It would look awesome with mushroom jeans and gray boots!

Chocolate, where have you been? This cardigan looks so cool in chocolate! And it's light, so it's great for fall!

Yum! I love sweaters that look delicious! I also love sweaters with the little V shaped thing at the top!

Awesome! Who wouldn't love a bright red hoodie? I don't even wear red, but I would totally wear this!

Loving the baseball sleeves! And the colors!

I love this soft, kinda worn-in look! And I've been missing the pale pink!

Great style, great colors! What's not to love?

Classic plaid, but with a new color combo! I love monochromatic!

Ah, boho. And mushroom! It would be so cute with mushroom or pale pink jeans!

Again, ah, boho! I love the blue and white! It feels fresh and different. I love the tie-front!

Skinny jeans will hopefully be around for awhile! I look best in skinny jeans, and contrary to popular belief, I think they look best on almost everyone! As long as they aren't plastic wrap skinny, they look great! And I love the lighter wash. It has much more dimension than solid indigo! Even though I love indigo...

I love the length, wash, and rise! I think cuffed are more polished than cut-offs. But I do love cut-offs.... Gosh, I'm indecisive today!

I love colored shorts! It takes confidence, but I think I could pull it off!

We're from Texas. We bleed orange. But my mom went to TCU. I saw a TCU shirt that said it rains purple. WHAT PLANET DO I LIVE ON?! Orange blood and purple rain. Wow my life is crazy! :)

Definitely in need of a burnt orange cardigan, but I love it! If there's a longhorn, there needs to be burnt orange!

So what do y'all (I'm from Texas) think of my American Eagle picks? I really need to get a stripey sweater! :)
