Madewell Pantaloons

Oh, the pantaloons! I love saying that with accents! So today, I'm doing my favorite pants at Madewell, and maybe I'll add shirts or sweaters depending on how much I have to say about the pantaloons!

I usually gravitate towards corduroy, but rarely in a flared style. I think these are relaxed, but not too relaxed. I don't love the color, but yeah, mustard is okay for fall.

This is more like me! Skinny cords! I think the color is interesting, and it's the only one Madewell offers. I don't think I could ever wear these. The color is too summery, but the texture is a little too wintry.

I love these! The color is spectacular, and the fit is perfect! They are relaxed, but not sloppy. These sweatpants that are okay to wear to the mall, but still comfortable! Needless to say, I love them!

I love those cuffs! Lately, I've been loving shorts with big cuffs, instead of cut-offs.

Be still, my beating heart. I love polka dots! I picture these with a relaxed sweatshirt or t-shirt.

Ok. Now I'm doing shirts. I'll do a post this weekend on some unexpected change. Can you take the suspense? Probably yes, but if not, great! Can't wait to tell you!

I love chambray/denim shirts with patterned skirts or shorts. I don't exactly wear them like the modal was styled (I don't wear them buttoned up all the way!), but I like the shirt. You don't see many like denim shirts on the World Wide Web (I love saying that! It rolls off the tongue, and I love alliterations!).

Who's surprised? Haha! No one? Yepsi pepsi! I love polka dots! I love the shirt, too! It would be amazing under a cardigan and a blazer!

Here's something different: stripes! I love polka dots and stripes! I've been loving long sleeve shirts lately, after being strictly short sleeved last year and the year before. The color is amazing! I love the thin colorful stripes with the thin white stripes.

Indigo. Oh indigo, how I art lovest thou! You are totes awesome! And on that long sleeve, pocketed shirt, you are fabulicious (that's a technical term!). In other words, I love thou. Lots of love, Birdy

Poppy! One of my favorite flowers, one of my favorite colors, and on one of my favorite styles? Too much. It's just too much. I love the little pocket! I wonder if anyone uses it! I don't! If you do, tell me! And what do you put in there?

Honestly, I'm not sure if this is a pajama shirt, or a regular shirt, but I love it! This summer, I was introduced to the awesomeness that is henleys. I love them! Oh, and this Saturday is wear green day! It's to raise awareness of the color green! Actually, I made it up because I think green is underused. I want to see it more, so wear green and spread the word!

While you're here, go check out the poll on the upper right hand corner! It doesn't take more than a few seconds, unless you are indecisive! I would be  overjoyed if 20 people answered my poll! So far, it's just two people, and I'm extremely happy! So please go do my poll!

The Shoes of Madewell and a Surprise Plot Twist

Sorry yesterday was a lame post! Today I'm doing shoes! Hopefully, It will be much better!

These are just classic brown boots. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! I like the chestnut color!

I'm having a major moccasins moment! They are so comfortable and fashionable at the same time! Definitely a rarity!

Bright red rain boots. Love em! I would love them even more if I had them. And I wouldn't buy them unless it rained, so if I had any rain boots, I would be overjoyed!

I love fuzzy slippers! When I was little, I wore them to bed. If I woke up in the middle of the night and wasn't wearing both slippers, I would wake up my dad so he could help me find it! I was a nightmare, but my dad said it was adorable! Anyway, these slippers are so cute! Again, my polka dot obsession reigns!

Determined not to make this a lame post, Reilly decides to add jewerly to her otherwise kinda boring post. Say that with an Australian accent!

I love this little charm! It continues my polka dot theme, and it's just plain adorable!

What's not to love about a shimmery, sparkly, gold ball?! It reminds me of a Christmas ornament! Speaking of which, we my dad isn't getting the tree out until after Thanksgiving! Are we the only ones?
I love bangles, but I have tiny wrists. It's really sad. They always fall off, even kids bangles! I know a lot of people have that problem, and I think bangle-makers should make them smaller! Anyway, this is an awesome bangle! I like the finish!

Uh-maze-ing. Purely amazing! I like the polka dots, especially in black and white, and the thickness is so delicate!

Ok, so my favorite things are tassels, polka dots, and lots of other things. Anyway, tassels are on my list. Tassels earrings? I love them! I like smaller chains, too. These remind me of feathers, which are also on my list!

So there's my list with a twist! Anyone else love polka dots as much as I do?

Madewell Dresses and Skirts Top Picks

Hello, little Birdies! I'm loving Madewell right now, and today, I'm doing my favorite dresses and skirts. And I'll throw in my least favorites just for kicks.

These are my favorite skirts.

I LOVE CHIFFON! Sorry about that. But I really really love chiffon. Especially pleated chiffon. Moving on. The color is unexpected, and the length is great. Overall, I love it.

This is the same skirt, but in black. It's so awesome with that sweater!

Hmmm, a velvet skirt. Perfect for the holidays, but for everyday, not so much. It's an amazing skirt, but not for everyday. The velvet is fabulous is that color.

This is my least favorite. I hope it speaks for itself, but if it doesn't, I'll explain. The length is too long. The color is jarring. The pattern is odd. It's just an all-around awkward skirt. Not to mention the shirt does not work with it.

Moving on to dresses. Lately I've been loving vintage (or vintage-looking for all the people out there who couldn't find anything vintage to save their lives. Hello, that's me!) slip dresses. They are spectacular under blazers with tough-looking boots. I love blush-tones. This color would be fantastic with a gray blazer!

This is definitely my least favorite. I can't stand that awkward length! And I've never loved that style with any length. I just don't understand it. How is that flattering? I guess we'll never know.

So. My faves. Comment, people, comment! I know y'all have opinions! I need to know them!

Madewell Denim (And Chambray!) Top Picks

As I mentioned yesterday, Madewell is too big for me. It's sad, I know. But I found some of my favorite denim and chambray stuff there.

Every person needs colorful jeans. These are great for the slightly-clor-phobic-but-wants-to-wear-color type. They are blue like regular jeans, but they are more vibrant. Love em!

Lately I've been totally loving lighter washes. They are more casual and I've-had-these-forever.

Useful tip: when buying flared jeans, stick to a lighter wash for a more casual vibe (that's the first time I've ever said typed that word) or a darker wash for a more formal look.

Every person needs gray/charcoal/black/faded black jeans. Absolutely necessary! Also, make sure you buy super skinny jeans in black/gray/etc. It looks much better. When the fit is skinny, the color stands out.

Can't help it! I love boyfriend jeans!

Loving the cuffs! The wash is perfect too!

I love the light denim shirt! It's so breezy and fresh with skirts! But it's a bit summery.

Wow! That's a first for me! I've never seen red chambray! It's awesome!

So those are my top picks! What do y'all think? I want to know! Does that sound stalkerish? Sorry. I want to know other people's opinions!

Some Madewell Inspiration

Madewell is definitely inspiring. I've never actually worn Madewell, or even been to a Madewell! It's still too big for me... sad! Anyway, even if it doesn't fit, it can still be amazing outfit inspiration.

Ok, so here's my inspiration:

It reminds me of an artist. I think it's a buttons! Right now I'm wearing a boyfriend cardigan with big buttons and pockets. I'm sensing a pattern. Oh, and also I'm wearing colorful skinnies. No wonder I like this outfit!

Oh yeah, I'm doing the entire outfit from Forever 21! I'll compare the prices.

Cardigan:

This is a pretty similar cardi. It's a bit darker, but it's close enough, right?

Madewell cardi: $178.00
Forever 21: $29.90

Shirt:

I cheated. This shirt is from Zara. I couldn't find a shirt similar enough, so I caved.

Madewell: $68.00
Forever 21 Zara $49.90

Jeans:

Madewell: $98.50
Forever 21: $24.80

Scarf:

This is the one part of this outfit I don't agree with. I think maybe a green scarf would be better. Or red, or yellow, or gray, but a tiny, plum scarf was not working.

From Madewell, I suggest this:

From Forever 21:

Madewell: $39.50 when it's not on sale
Forever 21: $6.50

Total:

Madewell: $384.00 (!)
Forever 21: $111.10

Wow. I guess Forever 21/Zara is probably a promising choice when it comes to prices! Madewell has a much higher quality, but it's pretty expensive. Which is a better value? I think Madewell is cuter, but I'd have to see it in person to decide if it's worth it!

Btw, because it's Thanksgiving break, my posts should be more regular. But towards the end of the week, they will probably be few and far between. Next week (the week after Thanksgiving) is a busy week, but I can work something out. Hopefully.

Madewell Part Uno

I scheduled this post for a few days ago. I don't know why it didn't work. Sorry!

I love Madewell. It seems simple, but put together. Tomorrow, I'll do a post about inspiration. Or the next day.

Here are some of my favorite Madewell accessories:

This scarf has a global (literally) and well-traveled look. The colors are vibrant, but not crazy. I love it! It's definitely an outfit maker!

I'm obsessed with sunglasses. I like the Nordstrom aviators, and Forever 21 cheapies. I love them all! These are no exception.  I always love translucent things, and I usually gravitate toward that shape.

What can I say? I love socks. These are so happy-looking, but I don't know where I would wear them. But that doesn't mean they don't make my top picks list!

I'm having a polka dots moment. They are so playful and fun! Who doesn't love big round splotches!?

Wow. Polka dots and socks combined? Too much. It's just too much. I need these socks! They aren't exactly wear-everyday socks, but I love them!

The tortoise is so cool! I'm loving it! They shape is great, I think. I can't really tell by the picture!

So those are my top 6 Madewell accessories! Love them? Hate them? I want to know!

Playin' with Texture

I need to do so many posts! I literally have a book 3 pages long with posts I need to do! I promise I'll do them soon. Promise.

Anyway, I'm not good at layering. Then I realized that I don't use enough texture. As a result, I designed an entirely Hollister outfit.

Texture numero uno: Velvet jeggings! I love velvet/corduroy/textured jeans of any kind. They are a bit formal, but they're not the wear-em-with-anything-anywhere type jeans.

Texture numero duos: Lace! I love lace! And bows, and ribbons, and ruffles! This shirt isn't top of the wishlist, but it's pretty and girly.

I've never worn a plaid shirt open. I bought a plaid shirt from AE about a month ago, but I still haven't bought a shirt to go under it.  I can wear it plain, buttoned up, but I want to try it open. I would wear this open.

I love stripey cardigans! The navy and magenta is an underused combo. I wish I could see it more often!

So there's my outfit! I would love to wear layered/textured looks more often, but it's still not cold enough!!! It's still a perfect 75˚ outside! That's great, but I'm hoping for cold!
