Surprise!

I had my surprise party a few days ago! I turn 13 on November 5, but I just had my 12th birthday party last week! Let's just say I wasn't expecting it!

My mom told me I couldn't go to a football game because my dad told his boss we would eat dinner with him. She left earlier than me and my dad. Suddenly, my dad pulled into Starbucks, claiming that my mom needed Starbucks so we had to get her coffee. I walked toward the counter thinking about what I should order. Then, my dad told me to look at something. I looked, and then I heard some of my close friends say, "Surprise!" really loudly! I'm sure I was so awkward! So anyway, my mom told me to look out the window. There was a limo! She said that was our ride! We giggled our way into the limo, and that's when the questions started flowing. "Where are we going?" "What are we eating?" "Why are we at Starbucks?" And so on and so on. My mom told us we were going to the So You Think You Can Dance Tour! It was amazing! First, we ate at the Iron Cactus (it was so good! We all ordered quesodillas!). Then we drove to the Cedar Park Center (in the limo!) My dad's company has a box, so we got to sit there and watch the show.

It was an unforgettable night! Love ya Mom, Dad, Hannah, Gabby, Maddie, Avery, and Arianna!

The List of All Lists

My birthday is coming up! So naturally, I'm making a list and checkin it twice. Here's the first draft:

1) I want to go to Bora Bora. I love those picturesque over-water bungalows! Observe:

The St. Regis is one of my favorite hotels. They say the devil is in the details, and they definitely took that into consideration! My dad took me to New York when I turned 10, so I think I'll ask my mom to take me to Bora Bora.

2) There's a porcupine on my back! I love J.Crew for basics, but the Porcupine popover is definitely an exception!

Isn't it so chic? It would go with any pantaloons/skirt/shorts I could possibly think of!

3) Cha Cha Chocolate! I love Kate Spade. And chocolate. Of course, I love the Kate Spade Cha cha chocolate clutch!

4) A bushel of glamour! And a peck of Michael Kors! I love all his sparkly, shiny pieces. They are works of art.

That jumpsuit of TO DIE FOR! I'm in love.

So there's my wishlist! Mom, Dad, and the rest of my family: Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, hint, hint!

*I'm totally kidding! I never say chic. Or pantaloons. And I still haven't come out with my list yet. My b-day is in a week! SUCH A PROCRASTINATOR! Anyway, I'm keep ya posted!

P.S. I would love to go to Bora Bora, but that's not a sorry-it's-on-such-shirt-notice-but-will-you-plan-a-trip-to-Bora-Bora kind of way! I was thinking more 24th birthday trip. Or anytime. But not in a week!

The Rainbow of Hollister Plaid

I was looking at Hollister for a new arrivals post, when I saw all the plaid. I thought that I needed to post it because I love plaid, but I couldn't choose just one to post. So behold, the rainbow of Hollister plaid:

Feel free to scroll through very quickly and get the true effect. And wow, that was a lot of pictures!

Okay. I love rainbows and ombre. Not ombre hair, but anything that fades into another color. I didn't post every shirt, and I probably posted a few of them twice. (I'm not a robot, for all those who think I'm not human. That brings the total of people who think I'm a perfect, infallible robot = zero). It's not perfect at all. I looked at all the red shirts and saved them in iPhoto. The only thing I changed was the order of the green shirts. I think Hollister has a few too many plaid shirts. I think girls should have at least one plaid item at a time. Two or three is better, but four, five, six is unnecessary.

AE Part Deux

Part ii of AE stuff isn't that exciting. Actually, I have blogger's block. Without further ado, wait! I love saying that... It feels so formal and grand. Addicting. What does ado mean? Anyway, without further ado...

Every girl needs some gray or black/charcoal/faded black pair of jeans. They are totally on my list of necessities! They work with almost everything, but they they look... different. I can't describe it, but it's less... casual... not the perfect word, but it will have to do. Oh well! Close enough is good enough! Well, not really.

4 words: I love red jeans.

Welcome my latest obsession! Moccasins! I've seen them a lot lately, and I'm in love! I have some that I love. They are more versatile than you would think. It really surprised me. On top of the aesthetic, they are amazingly comfortable! Not surprised? Neither was I.

Another favorite: riding boots. I lived in them last fall/winter. They are way more comfortable than I expected! Also, I didn't think they would go with a lot of things in my closet, but surprisingly, they worked with almost everything that wasn't a t-shirt and hoodie. In other words, slightly less casual.

Instant outfit: tank top, boyfriend cardigan, infinity scarf, jeans. I love infinity scarves. They add so much, and they keep your neck warm! I tried this one on, but unfortunately, the orange ruined it. We (my mom and I) wanted to try on more, but we ran out of time. Sad story. I loved the other available color combos, too...

... Such as this one! Lesson learned from the previous scarf: don't judge a scarf by the picture (Yeah, I'll work on that saying!) so obviously, I shouldn't judge according to the if-I-was-a-pessimist-I-would-say-that-saying-would-fail-immediately-but-I'm-an-optimist-so-I'll-say-it-won't-because-I'm-well-optimistic. How's that for a run-on? Long story short: I like this scarf. Wow, I digress!

In my opinion, smaller cross-body bags are better because they aren't as easily lost as, say, a clutch. And the colors and pattern are like, totally awesome, girl (I dressed up as an 80's Let's Get Physical girl at dance today, so I tried to stay "in character". I failed hilariously! But we, meaning me and everyone else at the studio, had tons of fun this week dressing up and making up Halloween dances).

This one is a bit too refined for me, but I appreciate it. It just needs something. Color, texture, pattern, or really anything would work. Just something a bit more fun and less serious.

I must confess that I am a sockaholic. I love awesome socks. They make great gifts (slightly ironic), and they keep your feet warm. Wow. I make it sound like it's so unbearably freezing in Texas. It get down in the teens about once a year. It's still 80/90˚ in the afternoon right now. For us, that's a little above normal. For Canadians, 50˚ is probably nothing. For Texans, at least in Austin, it's time too hibernate in the igloo and stock up on food because it's too cold to go to the grocery store. I'm exaggerating. But it's crazy. Let's say the transition isn't graceful or smooth. At all.

I love that tone variation. It looks especially fantastic in purple!

The chains with the different material and length are so like, totally fatabulous (another fail! *laugh and smile*) To put it simply: I love it.

This would actually be significant if I wore it because my nickname is Birdy for some unknown reason. I seriously don't know why my Mom calls me Birdy. I guess I have a lot of nicknames. I just respond to anything!

Cue confusion. How can you move your fingers if they're stuck in a ring? Why can't you just get 2 rings? How nonsensical! *That's a word!*

My cousin said she saw the cover picture framed in someone's house. She asked if that was in Awkward Family Photos. The house-owner said that it was kind of awkward. The lady didn't know it was in a book called Awkward Family Photos!

Texas. needs. rain. End. of. story. And the umbrella is super cute! I love umbrellas.. *sigh*... and rain.

Wow. I digress A LOT. From Let's Get Physical to making up sayings, I'm all over the place. That's just the way I like it!
