These are from J.Crew. The color is not a true red, but it's gorgeous. I think it's kind of coral-y. It work with any skin tone, but for fair skin, this is probably best.
These are Madewell. I love the color because it's a darker red. It's more appropriate for fall/winter, and it could be considered almost a neutral! Every single one of my magazines this month said that red/burgundy/aubergine/wine was the season's neutral.
These next three are all BP. I love Nordstrom BP. I love the way these are faded in a I've-had-them-forever kind of way. That reminds me of my great grandma. She despises distressed/faded/ripped anything, because she said when she was raising her children, she worked extremely hard to make sure her kids had new clothes in almost-perfect condition. She won't shop at vintage stores, and she yells at yellow cars. I love her!
Oh, coral. My favorite. It's a less intense way of wearing red jeans, but the downside is that they are way to spring-y for right now.
Finally! A tried and true red! What can I say? Classics are classics. People will always wear red. It's not my shade, but I could definitely wear a less vibrant shade. I don't know what red does to me, but I don't like it, so I wear wannabe shades of this fiery hue.
Does anyone else love red? Scared of red? Comment, comment, comment!
Lucky magazine says that if a color doesn't work for you, wear it below the waist. I think they're on to something! I should try a true red.
One more thing. I have all my favorite magazines for this month! I love Lucky, People Style Watch, and InStyle. What are y'all faves?
