Over it.

I'm over high-waisted. I think high-waisted shorts are great, but the jeans are just... meh. I'm loving regular mid-rise or a little lower rise on colored jeans. Another thing: I'm tired of trousers and wideleg jeans. Right now, I like colored, and/or textured denim. I'm also having a patchwork moment, but I can't find some I like. It's unfortunate that some people turn that trend into craziness sometimes. There shouldn't be to many patches, and they should be strategically placed.

Thoughts? I live in jeans. I think it's absolutely mandatory to own at least one pair of "fun" jeans, whether it's color, or pattern, or texture, people need something other than plain denim! That should be a law.

Any thoughts? I like the purple corduroy ones from J.Crew! Lately, I've been loving the rolled cuffs. What do y'all think? I can't say you all. I'm from Texas. And, no, I don't ride cows to school, and I don't have an accent. But I do say y'all.

Hello, Awesome!

Awesome is a broad term. Ex: unicorns: awesome, chocolate: awesome, fun: awesome. My point? Many things are awesome, including this magnetic nail polish. It's Nails Inc. London Magnetic Polish. A-MAZE-ING. Purely amazing.

1st step- Apply magnetic polish. Sounds simple, right? Well, yes, but first you must remove the outer             cap.

2nd step- Magnetize nails using over cap. Add a generous coat of polish, then immediately magnetize once more.

3rd step- Apply top coat. Then, the website says to marvel at your ultra-cool nails!

Here's a review I found from Eye Blink Fashion

"If any of my fellow nail polish lovers are like me and are sick of shatter and crackle polishes, then this nail polish is for you! I’ve been dying to try magnetic polish ever since I read about it a few months ago. Today the urge was so strong that I just sucked it up and ran out in the rain to my nearest Sephora to pick some up. And I’m sooo glad I did!
I bought the Nails Inc. Magnetic Polish in Trafalgar Square, which is a gray metallic with a hint of shimmer. This product is super easy to use (even for the ladies out there that don’t have a steady hand or do not have patience when it comes to nail art), and it creates an effect that ensures you get complements all day long. It’s definitely the perfect nail art. I love love love it and I can’t wait to get the Houses of Parliament shade!!"

What do y'all think? People Style Watch says it's the next big thing. I'm not sure. I love it, but it's not going to be huge.

Long Time No See!

Hey hey, Birdies! It's been awhile! I've been busy lately, so I might not be back until Wednesday or Thursday, worst case scenario. Let's take a moment to answer my poll!

Answering....

Answering....

Awesome! Thank you for wasting 10 seconds of your life to let me know if you can read.

Let's Try it Again

Fail. Epic fail. My polls are answered by very few people. I want to know what y'all think! My next poll will be open until New Year, and I'm hoping at least 50 people will do it. If you can read, answer it! If you can't, answer it! It's to the left, toward the top of the page. I will pause, and wait for everyone to answer it, then come back.

Not so bad, right? Polls don't bite. Let's build our way up to more intense questions such as "Do you think it's okay to mix navy and black?" I think we should start with "Can you read?" Then, if that's successful, more of less, I'll do things like, "Are you from Russia?" But let's not get crazy. That's too much. Take it down a notch, Birdy. I feel like I talk to myself a lot on the blog. I don't do that in real life!

My Ever-changing List

Okay. Calm down, Birdy. Your birthday is on Saturday, and you still haven't made the list yet. So what? Will the world end? Yes, it will. I need to get it done! So Wednesday night at 10:08, I am making Birdy's Birthday List 2011!

1.My mom's friend's idea: red jeans, furry vest, *Tyler's shirts, boots

     a. red jeans
                                                                                              Hollister

     b. Furry Vest

I used to be scared of vests. Now, I like them. I love some of them! This vest is alpaca. Who has a furry alpaca vest. Not many people, you say? Precisely! (Say that with a British accent!)

     c. Tyler's shirts

I love Tyler's shirts! They are so comfortable. I have tons of favorites, but I think the tonal variation (tonal variation- 10 points!) adds some depth and dimension.

     d. Riding boots

I'm not sure where I found these. They aren't my fave, but I want to go to Nordstrom and try on shoes until I find the best riding boots in the store. I love classic brown riding with skinny jeans! New thought: black boots with red/blue/any color jeans. Genius. I might ask for black boots.

Dear unnamed English teacher,
Notice my outline? Proud? You should be! ;) Actually, I know outlines are I, A, 1, a, i, and so on and so forth. How about this: did you notice my effort? No? Okay then.

My list-- inspired by many things!

     1. Red jeans
     2. Subscription to Lucky Magazine
     3. Subscription to People Style Watch
     4. Subscription to InStyle Magazine
     5. New case for my phone- preferably Lilly Pulizter!
     6. Coat for Bear (mentioned here and here)
     7. North Face soft jacket
     8. Puffer or furry vest
     9. Tyler's shirts
     10. Boots
     11. Cardigans/sweatshirts/clothes in general
     12. Mongolian Lamb pillow from West Elm in White

I don't expect all these! Every year, I ask for too much (I'm also going to California so that's a highly anticipated gift- and a major one) so I'm surprised, and gifters have options.

P.S. Hopefully, I'll do my Halloween post tomorrow! So sorry for the delay!

*I need to do a post about Tyler's. It's only one of my favorite stores OF ALL TIME EVER!

Belated Doggy Afters

Wow, I'm way late! Bear and DJ (mentioned here) got a hair cut- er, furcut.

The "photo shoot" was terrible at first, but it picked up when I got my hands on a toy. They love  their toys! And it's so adorable!

This was before I had the toy. Bear: distracted.

At the ready...

I was holding the toy! Bear wanted it sooooooo bad!!!

He was breed to entertain Cuban royalty. He's definitely a people pleasing, entertaining Havanese!

After jumping/twisting/barking like crazy, he finally sat like a good puppy should! I love his little ear! It always flips up when he twists and jumps like that.

This is Bear chasing DJ, who got the toy.

This is the face of a very desperate dog who wants a toy! He sat innocently while Bear acted like a flexible clown.

Somewhere along the way, DJ dropped the toy. Then, he  picked it back after a minute or two. Bear chased even when he didn't have the toy!

Needless to say, Bear and DJ love life, toys, and each other. Also needless to say, I love them so much!

P.S. My Halloween post may come a little later, because of a few complications. Sorry!

Surprise!

I had my surprise party a few days ago! I turn 13 on November 5, but I just had my 12th birthday party last week! Let's just say I wasn't expecting it!

My mom told me I couldn't go to a football game because my dad told his boss we would eat dinner with him. She left earlier than me and my dad. Suddenly, my dad pulled into Starbucks, claiming that my mom needed Starbucks so we had to get her coffee. I walked toward the counter thinking about what I should order. Then, my dad told me to look at something. I looked, and then I heard some of my close friends say, "Surprise!" really loudly! I'm sure I was so awkward! So anyway, my mom told me to look out the window. There was a limo! She said that was our ride! We giggled our way into the limo, and that's when the questions started flowing. "Where are we going?" "What are we eating?" "Why are we at Starbucks?" And so on and so on. My mom told us we were going to the So You Think You Can Dance Tour! It was amazing! First, we ate at the Iron Cactus (it was so good! We all ordered quesodillas!). Then we drove to the Cedar Park Center (in the limo!) My dad's company has a box, so we got to sit there and watch the show.

It was an unforgettable night! Love ya Mom, Dad, Hannah, Gabby, Maddie, Avery, and Arianna!
